The Overstory

The Overstory is the layer of interconnectivity that is the canopy of our campus. While The Path focuses on the individual and The Bridge focuses on the project, The Overstory focuses on the Cooper network. It is not only the study of how all things—be they ecological, economic, social, or digital—interact to create a functioning whole, it informs the Cooper network. Here, we move from doing to understanding, cultivating perspectives, skills, and wisdom from our diverse community.

The Overstory: The Architecture of Interconnectedness

The Overstory is also the systemic crown of our Innovation Center. In the forest, the overstory is where the canopy captures light, regulates the atmosphere, and communicates through a vast hidden network. In our school, this pillar represents the study of systems and stewardship.

The Sovereign Intelligence

Unique to our institution is the Sovereign Intelligence, a private knowledge trust that preserves and protects our school’s pedagogical DNA. Unlike public AI, this is a walled ecosystem built on a private vector database. It harvests the 'Institutional Memory' of our alumni, parents, and faculty, allowing students to access a deep root system of proprietary wisdom without compromising our community's privacy or intellectual property.

The Network

We cultivate an archive of alumni expertise, parent wisdom, and student creativity. It is a living archive where every voice is a ring of growth, ensuring our school’s pedagogical DNA is preserved, protected, and shared across generations.
